Aussie Supercross Show: More Starts = More Action
The Mental4Moto Aussie SX Show, brought to you by Graphics By Aqua
The "Triple Crown" at Round 3 of the Fox Australian Supercross Championship in Wollongong produced one of the most spectacular nights of racing ever.
The formula of "more starts = more action" will now be put to the test as we head towards this weekend's 3-day event in Adelaide, where riders in the premiere classes are set to go bar-to-bar over four separate "sprint" races.
For this episode we've put together a monster show, catching up with Connor Guillot, Sam Larsen, Seth Burchall and Elijah Weise, as well as co-host Zane Mackintosh, to break down all of the action from the 'Gong, and what we might expect when the Aussie Supercross Championship hits "Radelaide" for Round 4.

Moto Industry Guest - Michael Burns
Industry Guest Michael Burns joins me in-studio for this episode.
"Burnsy", as he is better known throughout the motocross community, is a Level 4 MA official, MV accredited track-inspector, as well as the father and race-bike mechanic to talented pro-level rider Chandler Burns. With over two decades of industry experience, Burnsy has an absolute wealth of knowledge on so many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the motocross world, and is known for his passion and dedication to improving the sport.
One of the topics we cover in-depth during the second half of this episode is mental health, and how motocross has helped us both with some of the challenges we have faced in our lives. Yesterday was World Mental Health day, so I thought there is no better time for this episode to go live. Hope you enjoy, and please let us know what you think!

Just when I thought that the racing in this championship couldn't get any better, Ballarat turned it on for Round 2 of the Senior Vic MX Championships last weekend, and I'd have to say that this has probably been my favourite round so far!
We were treated to outstanding track conditions once again, ideal weather for riding and with the scenic elevation of Monza Park as the backdrop, were treated to battle after battle as the riders laid it all on the line in their quest to be the number one in the state.
Recapping all of the action from this round, I have Dean Mosig calling in to co-host, and we also get a couple of the riders on the line - Oskar Kimber and Kye Little - to tell us about their races.

Inside the Helmet with Cody O’Loan
Cody O'Loan joins me in the Moto Asylum to once again to go "Inside the Helmet" and give us some insight as to what it's like racing as a privateer in the highly competitive MX1 class on the Aussie ProMX circuit.
Recorded in two parts, we first had Cody in the studio a couple of days before the first round of the Championship at Wonthaggi, and then caught with him again to finish off the episode after the latest round at Horsham.
Over the course of the episode we covered a range of interesting topics, including Cody's time in the US, privateer life, and the challenges of staying chill when things aren't going your way! As always, there were plenty of laughs and I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I did recording it!

I also catch up with the man behind the Inside Dirt Network, Joe Stevens, for a quick chat about some of the things that he's been working on, and how the idea for the Vic MX Recap Show came about.
EP24: Going Off Track!
This is our very first episode of “Going Off Track”, where we explore controversial, innovative, and often spicy moto-related topics!
For this episode, we cover five big questions -
Should Vince Friese be permanently banned from racing?
Will the emergence of electric motorcycles result in a "Dark Age" for MX?
Should ProMX award points down to 40th place?
Should voice comms or a bar mounted light system be utilised in MX and SX?
Could Austin Forkner's injuries at Arlington SX have been avoided?
Joining me in the Moto Asylum to go deep, deep, deep are former team-manager and long-time moto journalist Stephen Tuff, moto sales-executive and veteran racer Dean Mosig, and Pro MX2 racer Zane Mackintosh.
This format is all about promoting open dialogue and having a few laughs along the way. And while we may not be able to solve all of the world’s problems, just maybe we can come up with some ideas that get people talking, and possibly even result in positive changes to the sport!
Let us know what you think of this episode, and if there's any hot topics you'd like to hear us explore, shoot me a DM!
EP23: AMX Open Review Show
The AMX Open is one of my favourite events of the year, as it gives us the very first glimpse of what we might expect once the impending ProMX season kicks off. With some riders moving up classes, others returning from injury, and multiple contenders changing teams and bikes, it's always exciting to see how the weekend plays out.
Joining me in studio for the AMX Open Review, to talk about everything that went down, is MX2 racer and friend of the show, Zane Mackintosh. We also get Cody O'Loan, and Chandler Burns, who both raced in the MX1 class at the Open, on the blower to hear their thoughts about the weekend's racing.
EP22: Industry Guest - Mitch Worrell
Joining us in the Moto Asylum for EP22 is Industry Guest, Mitch Worrell.
It was a blast having Mitch in-studio to record this episode. We chat about his current role as a riding coach for the highly regarded Lee Hogan Building Champions Program, and the responsibilities that come with mentoring the next generation in a high-risk sport. But that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Mitch has so many stories to tell of his time involved in motocross - from growing up with a track at home and a house full of bikes, the influence of BMX on his riding, training at MTF with Colleen Millsaps and working with Yarrive Konsky and the Firepower Honda Team in the US, to some of the pretty horrific injuries he's suffered.
We also take a deep dive into some of the mental health aspects of the sport, such as the pitfalls of trying to live up to an "image", and the many ways that motocross promotes personal growth.
One of my favourite episodes so far - be sure to check this one out.
EP21: Inside the Helmet with Elijah Wiese
Calling in all the way from South Oz for our first podcast of 2024 is Elijah Wiese , one of the most popular and respected privateers in Australia.
A bit of a podcasting veteran himself, there's no "dead air" as we delve into a range of big topics, including the challenges of "making it" in the Australian MX scene, what it was like for Elijah to be a part of the official 2023 AUSX media program, coaching for the renowned Oates MX Rider Development Program, the competitive world of moto-media, and some of the amazing filming projects he has recently had the opportunity to take part in.
We also discuss Elijah's career to date, including his (somewhat rough) 2023 season, and his plans moving forward, both on and off the track.
From here on in, we'll be releasing episodes weekly for the rest of the 2024, so have a listen, and let us know what you think of the episode!
EP20: Inside the Helmet with Chandler Burns
Chandler Burns – another amazing privateer, who is also on the Mental4Moto Rider Support program for 2024, joins me in studio for this episode of "Inside the Helmet".
Chandler, at just 23 years of age, is almost a bit of a veteran of the MX2 and SX2 class, and you only need to watch this guy on a dirt bike for a couple of minutes to realise that he is amazingly talented. If he is able to stay healthy and gain some momentum, I honestly think he has the potential to be right up there banging bars with the very best riders in the MX2 and SX2 class.
This episode closes out our first year of doing podcasts, so thank you to everybody that has supported us so far. We look forward to continuing the Mental4Moto journey and going even bigger and better in 2024!
